Up Top Apples

‘Up Top’ is where I spent most saturdays with my brother when I was a kid. It’s a piece of land lovingly tendered by my dad for the last 50 years and his dad before him.
It had everything we could ever ask for, bonfires, underground dens, old motorbikes we used to ride round on, wildlife pond, warm grandparents house at the entrance where we used to eat, drink, fight and watch Tiswas.
And the old Bramley tree. We used to climb this most saturdays and now it’s nice to see my kids climb it when we visit. Luckily enough it was time for the apples to drop so we grabbed a pole and tapped the branches whilst the kids collected them up for halloween bobbing and for tasty pies..

  1. Mate love the pics , I’m recalling trying to catch the fish in the pond with little tiny rigs made up of fishing line and the smallest floats we could get our hands on! Goldfish should never be caught with a size 22 barbless and single White maggot, far better to let em swim free mate, now feeding tadpoles on a loaf of bread ! That’s another story!! Brilliant pics Paul !
