Scouse Parklife

Stevie or Ellie Jay as she is affectionately known to her friends and family required some shots for promo and for her portfolio and I was only too happy to blast over to Liverpool and the magnificent surroundings of Sefton Park.
She has lived and grown up in Liverpool and is clearly extremely proud of this fact with her nickname and clothing embracing her origin – $COU$E – that’s the cheeky and glittering wording adorning the jacket that Ellie’s mother made!
Sefton Park is a truly beautiful place full of victorian grandeur and mature trees that circle the park looking especially magical during autumn.
Ellie is an extremely talented singer / songwriter and is currently working very hard to finish her debut album in London.
Thankyou Ellie for being such fun on the shoot and for that killer trigger happy smile!

Light was a problem today, there was not much of it around and it was completely overcast without a single chance of catching some sunflair. I was a little worried as I planned to shoot with the 85mm 1.2 and the 135mm 2.0 . Neither have IS and shutter speed was looking dreadfully low during test shots. The only thing to do was crank the ISO up way above what I usually limit myself to (ISO 800) so most of the time I was around ISO 1250 and also at about f/2.2 . Getting correct exposure was key so I had no reason to lift the shadows in post which would reveal noise. A good test for the 5D and something I would now happily do again.
