Although I’m a wedding photographer in Chester last January I was a Cheshire Wedding Photographer in Norfolk for the day! Winter wedding photography is always a challenge as we deal with extremes of weather and shortages of light.

When I met Helen and Rich in a fabulous London pub called The Somers Town Coffee House near Euston it was a beautiful summers day and we sipped cider in sunshine and talked of their wedding plans for January. We talked about heading to the beach for some portraits on the Norfolk coast as this was very close to their wonderful Norfolk wedding venue of Titchwell Manor.
I suggested it may be cold and possibly windy on the beach at that time of year so please take some wellies and a coat just in case. Nothing could have prepared us for the weather that we experienced that January afternoon. As we got out of the cars we immediately felt the icy wind blast rain into our faces. We only managed about 3 minutes before retreating back in to the warmth of the cars.
